Computers suck!

So last Thursday I was ready to kill someone or something. Why is it that your computer always seems to act up before an important day or when you need some information? Computer was acting fine on Thurs morning....buuuut by Thurs afternoon, I could not access any of my secure websites...no bank, no school, no yahoo e-mail, no blogger....nada! I was beyond pissed. So I called my ISP Roadrunner and they went in circles with me..trying to give me a new IP address saying mine must have been dropped. Didn't work. Gave me Compaq's number...I get some guy from like India who says" Whooooo we can not help you because your warranty has expired...but we can offer you a new warranty for about $119.00!" Okay he was obviously smoking something good.

Call my schools online tech support and this guy was actually helpful...but couldn't solve the problem. Call the ISP people back they give me number to Microsoft Tech Support. I call them..they are closed. I call first thing in the morning here and get assigned a case number...and then I am transferred to wait one hour and 15 minutes. I hang up...livid at this point and desperate! I call back and they put me through the same number but I get a response in a half hour. The person I got was wonderful and resolved my issue by simply removing my Norton Firewall from the computer. All of that for a stinkin Firewall. Turns out we had two on our computer..oops! Anyway computers suck but I depend on them for everything so they are a necessary evil!

Welcome to my Hell. I'm constantly on the phone with Dell, Lexmark (printers), and/or Cell phone vendors (Cingular, T-mobile, Verizon, etc).

When something is seriously wrong with your pc, you are completely at their mercy. It's a horrible feeling. They make you repeat the same info over and over. What's your Serial Number? Ok, I'll transfer you. Hello, What's your Serial Number. Ok, I'll transfer you... 40 minutes later. You get dumped into someone's voicemail. Arrrrrrrgh!!!

I don't know how you can handle that everyday....I was so angry with their little attitudes because they thought they knew what the problem was..but they couldn't fix it. My computer damaged their egos..:)

I admit, it wears you down sometimes. But that's what the bike is for. :) 30-60 minutes on the 2-wheel and I'm all better.

But then there are those days when you do fix the pc and all of the sudden you're a super-hero. I'm still working on my end-zone celebration dance. Nothing too excessive. But a little flair and some spirit fingers.
